To ensure that your journey is as smooth and enjoyable as possible, we've compiled essential travel information and logistics.
Please let us know, as soon as you have booked your flight tickets, so we can organize logistics and travel groups.
Airports and Arrivals
For your convenience, you can choose from several airports to arrive in Italy.
Florence Airport (FLR)
This is the closest airport to our wedding venue. Upon arrival at the airport you have to take the tram directly to Santa Maria Novella (Florence central station) and shuttles will be arranged from there. Easy.
Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ)
Located around 100 km north of Florence. A train from Bologna to Florence typically takes about an hour in total. First thing you would want to do is to take the Marconi Express to Bologna Centrale and then change to either Italiarail and Italo directly to Florence. Please be aware that train tickets from Bologna Centrale to Santa Maria Novella should be booked in advance.
Pisa International Airport (PSA)
Pisa is located approximately 80 km west of Florence. Upon arrival, we recommend taking the train to Santa Maria Novella in Florence. The journey takes about an hour and a half in total. Recommended options are to take PisaMover from the airport to Pisa Centrale where you can change to either Italiarail directly to Florence. Please be aware that train tickets from Pisa Centrale to Santa Maria Novella should be booked in advance.
Independent travel
Naturally both car rental and taxis are an option from all points of arrival should you choose the convenience of that. That being said, in general trains are quite comfortable, reliable and affordable in Italy. Should you arrive by car there is parking available at the Villa.
Shuttles from Florence
To make your journey as hassle-free as possible, we will arrange for shuttles to take you from Florence directly to Villa Il Poggiale. The shuttle service will be available Thursday the 28th of August 2025.
Pickup location
The main pickup will be from Santa Maria Novella train station in Florence, conveniently located in the city center. We will confirm the exact pickup times and the meeting point closer to the wedding date and got all the arrival details from guests.
Arrival details
Since we need to coordinate the shuttles and arrival groups we need to know your arrival details and intended route ahead of time. Please provide us with your arrival details by June 1st, 2025. Should your plans change please contact us directly.
Suggested routes
We’re going to be a quite diverse group of people at our wedding, which means there is a lot of different routes to account for. These are the three main airports of origin and our suggested routes. We will update with specific suggested routes a year ahead of the wedding around the 1st of September, 2024.
